    Defect notice issued

Spoke to a guy yesterday who was after some Triumph Thruxton parts due to a Defect notice issued by
    a policeman

I understand some things He was defected on :

    1. Indicators too short with white/clear lenses
    2. No Guard and number plate angle and height obscures number
    3. No mirrors
    4. Aftermarket exhaust noise

But the next two seem a bit weird to me ?

    5. Pods fitted
6 No idiot (neutral) light on speedometer.
Speedo is aftermarket and has no idiot light, so not just bulb blown

Why would it be a defect to not have an idiot light and air box ?
    Any ideas ?

That seams strange about the idiot light and the clear lenses are ligit if you are using amber globes
Don't know why the pods would make a difference unless it has to do with pollution setup

I suppose technically any modifications could be defected as does not comply with the ADR rules that the bike passed with originally ?
