What's the price difference between the two? Not worth it if you occasionally carry a pillon to save 20 bucks

And put Boof out of a job ! :-)

If your bike is already registered as a 2 seater you’ll just need to download the ‘Qld Trans – Change of Vehicle Particulars Notification Form F3524’ and take it with you and the bike to Queensland Transport. Once there, they can refund you the difference on your registration cost* from a 2 seater to a single seat vehicle. That’s right, the government will give money back to a motorcycle rider, how good!
Must say I wish they would bring the single seat legislation into NSW's
Will raise this as an Agenda item for discussion @ next MCC meeting

Agenda item to add to September MCC Meeting

Some discussion on Rat-s forum was raised re single seat laws in Qld. >> http://forums.ratscafe.org/showthrea...at-laws-in-Qld

Registration is halved for riders. And the Q'ld Government must see some benefits such as Less accidents with a pillion, for them to implement such a scheme in the first place .

Is this something that could be discussed to look at uniformity between States. As I would certainly like to see this legislated in NSW. Even though I personally would keep my rego at full to carry a pillion

    From MCC

Since David C brought this topic up I had a look at the actual costs. From https://www.service.transport.qld.gov.au/eQuote/eQuote.jsp comes the below. All insurers are the same price EXACTLY – there’s another bonus aspect where they are happy to creep premiums in NSW but Qld has them by the jugular. Also note the lack of any city / country split or cc dependency. Hmm, no wonder there is strong push-back to change here – the insurers never had it so good as in NSW and don’t want it to change!!!
Single seat CTP has been part of ongoing discussions with the MAA for several years. So I hope after Boof raised it that this will now get more attention from MCC. And is eventually introduced as uniformity across Australia.

We can all thank the Carr government for that one Churchy. They sold off the CTP scheme to prop up the 'ailing' insurers. It's gotten worse ever since and I doubt they would ever be able to buy them back out of it...
