    Yeah, I was gunna paint those bricks but after doing a smaller wall in the bathroom I realised how absurdly time consuming it was.......so there you go.

    Andy, your doing a great job there, on a personal note Face brick is a lot easier to maintain than painted surface , ( no touch ups needed after they have been marked) but then again if you wanted them painted i could instruct you ( Free Advice ) Airless spray gun is the way to go on brickwork ( twice amount of paint tho )

    I've got one of those Wagner electric guns but to be honest I decided that if ever we do decide to do something it will be easier (& nicer) to line it with gyprock. Without unlimited funds for the renos the line has to be drawn somewhere. I restricted painting in those 3 rooms to the bathroom walls, plus ceilings, doors, architraves & timberwork....
    I only ever used the Wagner for about 10 minutes until I became horrified at the amount of paint it went thru..........with a sigh out came the brushes and rollers.........

    if looking at painting brick.........

    1 coat Dulux Acraprime 500/1

    2 coats Dulux Acrasheild gloss/ low sheen

    Acra range is thick so it covers a lot more

    Well I finally finished 2 of the standard rooms just after Xmas. 5 down, 14 to go..........
    To anyone contemplating doing their own renovation of a motel....DON'T!!! Or at least expect it to take a long time.....at least a month per room.
